Description & Sizing
Very good condition. This version of the shirt has the player-issue features which differ from the replica versions, including PolyFlex federation crest and adidas logos/sleeve stripes, correct-sized front/rear player numbers, dual layers and printed size details. Sleeve stripes and federation crest have some cracking and wear. Few small bobbles and marks to front of shirt.
Sweden wore this home shirt during the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the qualifying campaign for UEFA Euro 2004, a period that included the emergence of Zlatan Ibrahimović as one of the country's most promising attacking talents.
Under joint managers Lars Lagerbäck and Tommy Söderberg, Sweden entered the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea hoping to progress from a challenging group featuring England, Argentina and Nigeria.
The squad featured established players including Henrik Larsson, Freddie Ljungberg, Anders Svensson, Olof Mellberg, Johan Mjällby and goalkeeper Magnus Hedman, alongside the emerging Ibrahimović.
Sweden began the tournament with a 1–1 draw against England, with Niclas Alexandersson scoring the equaliser following Sol Campbell's opening goal. A 2–1 victory over Nigeria followed, with Larsson scoring twice to secure three important points.
In their final group fixture, Sweden held Argentina to a 1–1 draw, with Svensson scoring a memorable free-kick before Hernán Crespo equalised. The result ensured Sweden finished top of the group, ahead of England, Argentina and Nigeria.
Their World Cup campaign ended in the Round of 16 following a 2–1 extra-time defeat against Senegal, with Henri Camara scoring the decisive golden goal. Although Sweden were unable to progress further, their performances against several established international sides represented a positive tournament.
Ibrahimović, who had made his senior international debut in 2001, was included in the World Cup squad as a 20-year-old and continued developing his international career during the following qualification campaign.
Sweden subsequently secured qualification for Euro 2004, finishing top of their qualifying group ahead of Latvia, Poland, Hungary and San Marino.
Ibrahimović became an increasingly influential attacking figure, combining technical ability, physical presence and creativity as Sweden prepared for the tournament in Portugal.
Produced by adidas, the 2002–04 Sweden player-issue home shirt featured the national team's traditional yellow colourway with contrasting blue detailing across the collar, sleeves and shoulders. Based on adidas' Real II template, the design incorporated the Swedish federation crest and the manufacturer's distinctive three-stripe branding.
Player-issue versions were produced with technical specifications intended for professional use, with surviving examples featuring details such as dual-layer construction, transfer-applied branding and printed sizing. Featuring Ibrahimović's name and number, the shirt represents the early international career of a player who would become Sweden's all-time leading goalscorer and one of the country's most celebrated footballers.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
