Spain wore this home shirt during a period that included the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and the qualification campaign for UEFA Euro 2008.

Under manager Luis Aragonés, Spain entered the 2006 World Cup with a talented squad featuring Iker Casillas, Carles Puyol, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, David Villa and Raúl.

Having successfully qualified for the tournament, Spain began their World Cup campaign with an impressive 4–0 victory over Ukraine, with Villa scoring twice. The result was followed by a 3–1 victory against Tunisia, secured through a late attacking recovery featuring two goals from Torres.

Spain completed the group stage with a 1–0 victory over Saudi Arabia, finishing top of Group H with nine points from three matches. Their performances established the team among the tournament's promising contenders, particularly given the technical quality of their midfield and attacking options.

However, Spain's campaign ended in the Round of 16 against France, who recovered from an early Villa penalty to secure a 3–1 victory. Goals from Franck Ribéry, Patrick Vieira and Zinedine Zidane eliminated the Spanish side, with France subsequently progressing to the World Cup final.

Following the tournament, Aragonés continued to reshape the national team, increasingly building his squad around a technically gifted midfield. Players including Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc Fàbregas, David Silva and Xabi Alonso became important figures as Spain developed the possession-based playing style that would define their subsequent success.

The qualification campaign for Euro 2008 initially featured inconsistent results, including defeats against Northern Ireland and Sweden. However, Spain recovered to finish top of their qualifying group, securing a place at the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.

The period marked an important transition for the national team, laying the foundations for their historic run of three consecutive major international tournament victories between 2008 and 2012.

Produced by adidas, the 2006–08 Spain home shirt featured the national team's traditional red colourway with contrasting yellow detailing and the Spanish national crest. The design incorporated adidas branding and the manufacturer's signature three stripes, maintaining Spain's recognisable international identity. Worn by Torres, Villa and Xavi during the 2006 World Cup and subsequent Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, the shirt represents an important period in the development of Spain's celebrated national team.

Condition
Condition: 8/10 - Excellent

Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.

Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.

Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.

Our condition guide

10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.

9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.

8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.

7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.

6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.

Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
