2020/21 saw the Saints start strongly and they were in 3rd place in the league heading into mid-December. A poor after Christmas which saw 8 losses and a 9-0 hammering at Old Trafford saw the team slide down the table to eventually finish 15th under Ralph Hasenhüttl.
