Roma finished 5th in Serie A in 1995/96. Prolific striker Abel Balbo was once again the club's top scorer with 14 goals although it was 8 less than his previous season. The team also made it to the UEFA Cup quarter finals before being eliminated on away goals by Slavia Prague in extra time.
