Worn across the 1982/83, 1983/84 and 1984/85 campaigns, this iconic Liverpool home shirt featured during one of the most successful periods in the club's history, including consecutive league championships, domestic cup triumphs and a fourth European Cup.
The 1982/83 season marked Bob Paisley's final campaign as Liverpool manager. The Reds won the First Division title with 82 points, finishing 11 ahead of Watford, and secured their third consecutive League Cup with a 2–1 victory over Manchester United after extra time.
Joe Fagan succeeded Paisley during the summer of 1983 and enjoyed a remarkable debut season. Liverpool retained the First Division championship in 1983/84, finishing three points ahead of Southampton, before defeating Everton 1–0 in a League Cup final replay through a Graeme Souness goal.
The Reds completed an unprecedented treble by winning the European Cup against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Following a 1–1 draw after extra time, Liverpool secured a 4–2 penalty shootout victory, with Bruce Grobbelaar's famous goalkeeping antics becoming part of the club's European history.
Liverpool finished second in the First Division during 1984/85 and again reached the European Cup final, facing Juventus at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels. The match was overshadowed by the Heysel Stadium disaster, in which 39 people died before kick-off. Juventus won the match 1–0.
Fagan retired at the end of the campaign, with Kenny Dalglish appointed player-manager ahead of the 1985/86 season, bringing another successful era at Anfield to a close.
Produced by adidas, the 1982–85 home shirt featured Liverpool's traditional red colours, a subtle pinstripe design, a white V-neck collar and three-stripe detailing along the shoulders. The shirt also carried an embroidered Liver bird crest, creating one of the club's most recognisable designs of the 1980s.
Closely associated with Liverpool's domestic dominance and their 1984 European Cup triumph in Rome, the shirt remains an enduring symbol of one of the most successful periods in the club's history.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
Product Care

Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Keep away from damp environments or direct sunlight

- If hanging, use a wide/padded hanger to help maintain shape
Protecting prints, badges and sponsor logos
- Do not iron directly over prints, namesets, patches or sponsor logos
