2013/14 saw the return of Jose Mourinho as manager after 6 years away from the club. 'The Special One' oversaw a 3rd placed finished in the Premier League and a run to the Champions League semi-finals however it was a season without any silverware for the Blues.

Club legend Frank Lampard also played his last games for Chelsea during this season, ending as club captain and also as the clubs all time leading goalscorer and 4th in their all-time appearance list.
