Worn across 2 seasons, 1999/00 saw Celta finish 7th in La Liga and reached the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup. 2000/01 saw the club lift their first ever trophy, winning the Intertoto Cup and securing qualification for the following seasons UEFA Cup in the process. Celta also reached the final of the Copa del Rey but were unable to go all the way as they lost the game 3-1.
