Arsenal finished second in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign under Mikel Arteta, securing qualification for the following season's UEFA Champions League after collecting 74 points.
The campaign marked Arsenal's third consecutive second-place finish, with the club continuing to compete among England's leading teams while pursuing their first league championship since 2003/04. The squad featured established players including Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães and David Raya, alongside new arrivals Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
Despite periods of strong form, injuries to key players and inconsistent attacking performances affected Arsenal's title challenge. The Gunners eventually finished ten points behind champions Liverpool, securing another runners-up finish and Champions League qualification.
Arsenal's most significant performances came in European competition, where they progressed through the Champions League league phase before defeating PSV Eindhoven 9–3 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
Their quarter-final against Real Madrid produced a memorable result at the Emirates Stadium, with Rice scoring two outstanding free-kicks before Merino added a third in a 3–0 victory. A subsequent 2–1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu secured a 5–1 aggregate triumph, eliminating the defending European champions.
Arsenal faced Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, but defeats in both legs resulted in a 3–1 aggregate elimination against the eventual winners.
Domestically, the Gunners reached the League Cup semi-finals before losing 4–0 on aggregate to Newcastle United, while Manchester United eliminated Arsenal from the FA Cup on penalties. Havertz finished as Arsenal's leading goalscorer with 15 goals across all competitions, despite missing the final months through injury.
Although the campaign ended without a major trophy, Arsenal's European performances demonstrated their progress under Arteta and provided several memorable moments for supporters.
Produced by adidas, the 2024/25 Arsenal home shirt featured the club's traditional red body and white sleeves, complemented by navy-blue detailing across the shoulders and side panels. The design marked the return of Arsenal's standalone cannon emblem to the home shirt for the first time since 1989/90, replacing the full club crest. Completed with the Emirates Fly Better sponsor, it represents a season featuring another Premier League runners-up finish and a memorable European campaign.
