Getting to San Siro from The Soccer Archive Milano
Here are the simplest routes to the San Siro on matchday. Benfica supporters are allocated to Gate 0B, Tower 1, Green Third Tier. Allow extra time for the stadium's new 2026/27 access arrangements and follow the away-supporter signs and steward/police instructions on arrival.
Ticinese → Vetra M4 → San Babila → Lotto → San Siro Stadio
Approx. 35-45 mins from our store, plus matchday queues
ATM urban fare applies; contactless payment is accepted on the metro
- From our store at Corso di Porta Ticinese, 62, walk to Vetra (M4).
- Take M4 to San Babila, then change to M1 towards Rho Fieramilano.
- At Lotto, change to M5 towards San Siro Stadio and stay on to the terminus.
- From San Siro Stadio, follow the dedicated away-supporter signage towards the drop-off / Entrance 0-bis area and your ticketed Gate 0B.
M4 → San Babila → M1 to Lotto, then walk
Useful if M5 is particularly busy
Lotto is around a 15-20 minute walk from San Siro
- Follow the same route from Vetra M4 to San Babila, then take M1 towards Rho Fieramilano.
- Alight at Lotto M1 instead of changing to M5.
- Walk towards San Siro along the signed stadium route and allow extra time for crowd controls.
- Benfica supporters should continue to the visiting-fan route and Gate 0B, following steward and police instructions.
Away-fan parking & shuttle
Via Airaghi / Acquatica Park car park opens 17:30 CEST
€5 cars / €30 buses; free stadium shuttle
- AC Milan's 2026/27 arrangements give away fans a dedicated parking area at Via Airaghi (Acquatica Park).
- A free shuttle operates between the away parking area and the stadium, with return journeys after the match.
- The away drop-off is near the stadium's north ticket office at Entrance 0-bis.
- If arriving by car or organised coach, use this designated route rather than trying to approach the stadium entrances directly.
Returning to central Milano
Use San Siro Stadio M5 or Lotto M1 after the final whistle
Check ATM on matchday for the exact last trains and any fixture-specific extension
- ATM states that Segesta and San Siro Ippodromo M5 close just before the end of San Siro matches.
- For the return, use San Siro Stadio M5 or walk to Lotto M1/M5; Lotto may be very busy and the M1-M5 internal interchange can be closed for crowd management.
- Surface lines 16, 49, 64, Q78 and 80 are diverted around San Siro on matchdays.
- As of 9 September 2026, no Benfica-specific late-metro timetable has been published by ATM. Check ATM again on matchday before relying on a particular last train.
Travel Tips for Benfica Supporters Staying in Milano
Arriving from Malpensa Airport
The Malpensa Express connects Malpensa with Milano Cadorna and Milano Centrale. Cadorna is convenient for San Siro: take M1 towards Rho Fieramilano to Lotto, then either change to M5 for San Siro Stadio or walk from Lotto.
Arriving from Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio)
There is no direct rail station at the airport. Shuttle buses such as Orioshuttle and Terravision run to Milano Centrale. From Centrale, take M2 to Garibaldi and change to M5 for San Siro Stadio.
Arriving from Linate Airport
Linate has a direct M4 metro connection. For our store, alight at Vetra. For San Siro, continue to San Babila, change to M1 towards Rho Fieramilano, then use Lotto for the M5 connection to San Siro Stadio.
Buying Milano public transport tickets
ATM accepts contactless bank cards, phones and smartwatches on the metro and surface network. Use the same card/device throughout the journey. The ATM app is also useful for live disruption, accessibility and last-train information.
Allow extra time for the new San Siro access layout
San Siro's external access routes were reorganised for the 2026/27 season. Check the entrance printed on your ticket, follow the visiting-supporter route and do not assume an old stadium approach will still be open.
Plan the post-match route before kick-off
ATM closes Segesta and San Siro Ippodromo shortly before the end of San Siro matches. After the final whistle, use San Siro Stadio or Lotto. Check ATM on the day for any confirmed late-running metro arrangements.
Taxi apps
Licensed taxis in Milano can be booked through Freenow. Immediately after the match, road closures and heavy demand around San Siro can make taxis slower than the metro, so arrange a pickup away from the stadium perimeter if needed.
Matchday Tips - San Siro
A few quick pointers to keep the journey smooth and the experience stress-free on the day of the game.
Arrive Early
San Siro has a new external access layout for 2026/27. Leave extra time for crowd routing, ticket/ID checks and security screening.
Use the Official Benfica Away Ticket
Benfica's away tickets are for Gate 0B, Tower 1, Green Third Tier, sectors 343-360, excluding 349, 351 and 352. Tickets are €14 and the official Benfica sale runs through its own website.
Carry Photo ID
San Siro tickets are personal. AC Milan's regulations require supporters to show a valid identity document at pre-filtering so staff can match the ticket holder to the attendee.
Travel Light
Security searches may include metal detectors. Fireworks, flares, weapons, laser devices, alcohol, cans/glass/plastic bottles and unauthorised banners or instruments are prohibited.
Know the Away Route
AC Milan provides visiting fans with dedicated parking at Via Airaghi / Acquatica Park and a free shuttle to the stadium. The away drop-off is near the north ticket office at Entrance 0-bis.
Use San Siro Stadio or Lotto Afterward
ATM closes Segesta and San Siro Ippodromo before the end of matches. Use San Siro Stadio M5 or Lotto M1/M5 for the return into central Milano.
Matchday operations can change at short notice. Check Benfica, AC Milan, UEFA and ATM updates before travelling, particularly for any final away-fan instructions and the exact post-match metro timetable.
