Worn across 2 seasons this design saw saw Portsmouth competing in the Premier League for the first time in 2003/04 . Pompey eventually finished 13th with their home form contributing heavily to the team retaining their top flight status.
2004/05 was a turbulent season for the club and despite a strong start in the league, Harry Redknapp walked out in November after a row with the chairman over the appointment of new Director of Football, Velimir Zajec at the club. Zajec only last until April when he was replaced by Alain Perrin who eventually steered the club clear of relegation and to 16th place.
