2023/24 was Unai Emery's first full season in charge of the club and he led the Villans to a 4th place finish in the Premier League, securing their highest placed finish in nearly 20 years. 

The club also reached the semi-finals on the Europa Conference League before being eliminated 6-2 on aggregate by the eventual winners. Both John McGinn and Leon Bailey made the team of the tournament to cap off another season of progress for the club.
