2019/20 saw City successfully retain their League Cup title for the 3rd consecutive season, their 5th victory in 7 seasons. The club were unable to retain either the Premier League or FA Cup trophies in a disrupted season which saw all competitions suspended as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was also the first season since in over 12 years without former captain Vincent Kompany.
