Very good condition. Club crest is an embroidered patch, stitched onto shirt. Reebok logo is embroidered. Club sponsor is flock with colour wear. Few small pulls and bobbles across shirt, one small burn hole to upper front. Colours and stitching in excellent condition.
In 1996/97 Liverpool led the league for much of the season and had a 5 point lead at the top before the turn of the year. However, the team were surpassed and it was United who ultimately won the league.
An appearance in the Cup Winners Cup ended at the semi-final stage. However, a bright spark came in the form of a teenage Michael Owen. He scored on his debut, setting himself on the road to being one of the most feared strikers in the world over the next few seasons.
