Worn across 2 seasons under Claudio Ranieri's leadership, firstly as the clubs away shirt before it changed over to being used as the third shirt the following season. In 2000/01 Chelsea reached the FA Cup final, their 3rd in 6 seasons, losing 2-0. The end of that season saw Roberto Di Matteo retire after 6 years with the club due to injury. 

In 2003/04, the squad secured a 4th placed finish to enter their name into the draw for the Champions League qualifying rounds.
