2002/03 saw Blackburn enjoy a great season, finishing in 6th and qualifying for the UEFA Cup for the second year in a row. The club were unable to defend their League Cup title despite making it to the semi-finals. Keeper Brad Friedel was named as the goalkeeper in the PFA Team of the Year.
