Arsenal finished outside the top 4 of the Premier League for the first time in over 10 years in 2016/17 and suffered their heaviest ever aggregate defeat in a two-legged european tie, 10–2. They did however win the FA Cup for a record 13th time which saw manager Arsène Wenger become the most successful manager in FA Cup history with 7 wins.
