2014/15 saw Villa finish 17th after Tim Sherwood replaced Paul Lambert mid season. The new manager led the club to the FA Cup final for the first time in 15 years but was unable to lift the trophy after losing the final 4-0. Striker Christian Benteke was the clubs top scorer with 15 goals in all competitions.
