QPR were still looking to gain promotion back to the Premier League but club were close to the relegation zone throughout the season. Inconsistent form under manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink meant he was replaced in early November by Ian Holloway. Despite the change the same problems remained and the team ultimately finished 18th, just 2 points above the relegation zone.
