Worn as Northern Ireland attempted to qualify for Euro 2020 after their historic appearance in the 2016 tournament. They finished 3rd in their qualifying group and advanced to play-off thanks to ranking in the Nations League.

In their play-off semi final, they progressed thanks to a 4-3 penalty shootout victory but they were unable to secure back to back tournament appearances after they were beaten in extra time by Slovakia, 2-1.
