2013/14 saw Marseille unable to improve on their 2nd place finish the previous season as they finished in 6th place. A poor showing in the Champions League saw 6 losses and a group stage exit in their return to the competition. Striker André-Pierre Gignac was the team's to scorer with 22 goals in all competitions.
