Dortmund appointed Edin Terzić as coach on a permanent basis and he led Dortmund to 2nd in the Bundesliga. 

Going into the final match-day on Dortmund needed a win to clinch the title, irrespective of results elsewhere. However, they could only manage a draw and Jamal Musiala's late winner for their Der Klassiker rivals secured the title on goal difference.
