2012/13 was a historic season for Bayern which would end with the club lifting their 5th Champions League. The victory also completed the Treble after the team had won both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

Bayern were the 1st German club to achieve the Treble and the 3rd European Club to complete the feat in the last 5 seasons. Thomas Müller, who was deployed in a variety of attacking role throughout the year, ended the season as the club's top scorer with 23 goals in all competitions.
