Sven Goran Eriksson steered the team to a 3rd placed Serie A finish in 93/94 as well as a victory in the Coppa Italia final. Built on a strong attack that scored a league high 69 goals, Sampdoria had a some of the finest midfielders and attackers at their disposal including David Platt, Roberto Mancini, Ruud Gullit and Attilio Lombardo.
