2007/08 was season of 2nd place finishes for Chelsea. Runners-up in the league and losing finalists in both the Champions League and League Cup capped a disappointing season for the Blues.

Despite going the entire campaign unbeaten at home, it was the first season in 4 years that the club had finished the season without a trophy. This ultimately cost manager Avram Grant his job at the end of season.
