1999–00 was the 100th season in the club's history and the team celebrated by winning it 2nd consecutive league title, its third consecutive DFB-Ligapokal and the DFB-Pokal.

Things got even better in the 2nd season this shirt was worn with the club winning the Champions League, its 1st European Cup victory for more than 25 years.
