Excellent condition. Club crest and Umbro lettering are both embroidered. Club sponsor and player name/number are flock and heat applied. No pulls or bobbling, small amount of marking to collar. Colours and stitching in excellent condition.
Chelsea began the 1997/98 season well, however when manager Ruud Gullit was sacked after a dispute with the club chairman he was replaced with striker Gianluca Vialli. Within 3 months he had guided the Blues to victory in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the League Cup.
The following season saw more success for club in the European Super Cup and a 3rd placed finishes in the Premier League which saw Chelsea secure their 1st Champions League campaign. Given his new success as a manager Vialli, at 35, announced his retirement as a player to concentrate on his managerial role.
