“A moment of ecstasy turned to agony”

The 1994 World Cup was Roberto Baggio’s tournament. He was a shining star, living up to all the hype that had preceded him. He dazzled the world with his incredible talent and skill, leading Italy to the final with a brace against Hristo Stoichkov and Bulgaria in the semi-finals. Yet, in a moment that would forever haunt him, he missed a penalty that cost his nation the ultimate prize.
