An iconic shirt worn by Deportivo across 2 seasons. 1997/98 saw an unremarkable season with a 12th place finish in La Liga and an quarter final exit in the Copa del Rey before manager José Manuel Corral was replaced at the end of the season for Javier Irureta.

This appointment would pave the way for the most successful period in the club's history with Irureta steering the club to a 6th place finish in 1998/99, building the foundations for the clubs maiden top flight title just 2 seasons later.
