1982/83 saw Milan in their 2nd consecutive season in Serie B and this time round they were more clinical and the path to promotion was relatively comfortable. They lost just 3 times all season and spent the entire season in the top 2 before clinching the title by 8 points.

It was also Franco Baresi's first season of being captain of the club at just 22 years old, he would retain this until his retirement 15 years later.
