Spain reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2020 under Luis Enrique, producing an encouraging campaign at the delayed tournament before being eliminated by eventual champions Italy on penalties.
Having experienced a period of transition following their dominance of international football between 2008 and 2012, Spain entered the tournament looking to establish a new generation of players on the European stage. The squad featured established internationals including Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, César Azpilicueta, Álvaro Morata and Koke, alongside emerging talents Pedri, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Unai Simón.
Spain began their campaign in Group E, facing Sweden, Poland and Slovakia. Goalless and 1–1 draws against Sweden and Poland respectively left La Roja requiring a positive result in their final group fixture. A commanding 5–0 victory over Slovakia secured progression to the knockout stages, with Spain finishing second in the group.
In the Round of 16, Spain faced Croatia in an entertaining encounter that finished 3–3 after normal time. Extra-time goals from Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal secured a memorable 5–3 victory. Spain subsequently faced Switzerland in the quarter-finals, progressing through a penalty shootout following a 1–1 draw after extra time.
Their semi-final against Italy at Wembley proved another closely contested fixture. Federico Chiesa opened the scoring for the Italians before Morata equalised during the closing stages.
With the score remaining 1–1 after extra time, the match was decided by penalties. Olmo, who had played the full 120 minutes, missed Spain's opening attempt, while Morata was also denied as Italy secured a 4–2 shootout victory.
Despite their elimination, Spain's performances demonstrated the potential of Luis Enrique's developing squad, particularly the emergence of Pedri, who was named the tournament's Young Player of the Tournament.
Spain also reached the 2021 UEFA Nations League final later that year, defeating Italy in the semi-finals before losing 2–1 to France.
Produced by adidas, the 2020–22 Spain home shirt featured a predominantly red design with an abstract patchwork graphic incorporating different shades of red, inspired by the Spanish national flag. Completed with yellow adidas detailing and the national crest, the shirt was worn during Spain's Euro 2020 semi-final campaign and the emergence of a new generation of international players.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.

Protecting prints, badges and sponsor logos
- Do not iron directly over prints, namesets, patches or sponsor logos
