RCD Mallorca wore this home shirt across the 2003/04 and 2004/05 campaigns, during a period that included UEFA Cup football and two challenging seasons in La Liga.
Having secured the Copa del Rey in 2002/03, Mallorca entered the following campaign hoping to build upon their domestic cup success and establish themselves among Spain's leading clubs. The squad featured established players including Samuel Eto'o, Miguel Ángel Nadal, Finidi George, Nenê and goalkeeper Leo Franco.
Under manager Luis Aragonés, Mallorca attempted to balance their domestic commitments with participation in European competition. The 2003/04 campaign proved inconsistent in La Liga, although the club retained its top-flight status with an 11th-place finish and 51 points.
Eto'o remained Mallorca's most influential attacking player, scoring 17 league goals and attracting considerable interest from Europe's leading clubs.
In the UEFA Cup, Mallorca progressed through the opening rounds with victories over APOEL, Copenhagen and Spartak Moscow. Their European campaign ended in the fourth round against Newcastle United, who secured a 7–1 aggregate victory.
The following season brought significant changes, most notably the departure of Eto'o to Barcelona during the summer of 2004. Mallorca subsequently struggled to reproduce their earlier attacking performances, becoming involved in a prolonged relegation battle.
The club experienced managerial changes during the campaign, with Héctor Cúper returning to take charge as Mallorca attempted to improve their results. Despite their difficulties, Mallorca secured sufficient points during the closing stages to retain their La Liga status.
The club eventually finished 17th with 39 points, two ahead of relegated Levante. Luis García emerged as Mallorca's leading league scorer with 11 goals, providing an important attacking contribution during the survival campaign.
Although the two seasons produced contrasting challenges, the shirt remains associated with Eto'o's final campaign at the club and Mallorca's participation in European competition.
Produced by Reial, the 2003–05 RCD Mallorca home shirt featured the club's traditional red colourway with contrasting black sleeves and collar detailing, complemented by the Spanair sponsor. Incorporating the Mallorca crest and manufacturer branding, the design represents the club's early-2000s identity. Worn during a period that included Eto'o's final season, a UEFA Cup campaign and subsequent La Liga survival, the shirt reflects an important transitional era for the Balearic club.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
