Manchester United completed their historic Treble during the 1998/99 campaign under Sir Alex Ferguson, becoming the first English club to win the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the same season.
Having finished second in the Premier League the previous campaign, United entered the season determined to reclaim the domestic title and compete for further European honours. The squad featured established players including Roy Keane, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, alongside the attacking partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.
Schmeichel remained a central figure in United's success, combining leadership, experience and important performances during his final campaign at Old Trafford. The Danish goalkeeper had joined United from Brøndby in 1991, establishing himself as one of the most influential players of Ferguson's early Premier League era.
United secured the Premier League title on the final day of the season, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 at Old Trafford to finish one point ahead of Arsenal. Their FA Cup campaign also ended in success, with goals from Teddy Sheringham and Scholes securing a 2–0 victory over Newcastle United at Wembley.
Schmeichel played a particularly important role in the FA Cup semi-final replay against Arsenal, saving Dennis Bergkamp's late penalty before Giggs scored his memorable extra-time winner.
United subsequently faced Bayern Munich in the Champions League final at the Camp Nou in Barcelona. Trailing 1–0 as the match entered stoppage time, Ferguson's side produced a remarkable comeback through goals from Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjær to secure a dramatic 2–1 victory.
With Keane suspended, Schmeichel captained United in the final, making his last appearance for the club before departing for Sporting CP. His departure brought an end to eight successful seasons at Old Trafford, during which he won five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League.
Produced by Umbro, the 1998/99 Manchester United kids goalkeeper shirt featured a striking fluorescent-green body with contrasting dark-green and black detailing, including distinctive Umbro diamond patterns along the sleeves. The design incorporated a black zip-up collar, Manchester United crest, Umbro branding and Sharp sponsor. Closely associated with Schmeichel's final season and United's historic Treble, the shirt remains one of the club's most recognisable goalkeeper designs.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
