Manchester City finished third in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign under Pep Guardiola, recording 71 points as their remarkable run of four consecutive English league championships came to an end.
Having secured a record fourth successive Premier League title the previous season, City entered the campaign hoping to maintain their domestic dominance while challenging for further European honours. The squad featured established players including Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Rodri and goalkeeper Ederson, alongside summer arrival Savinho.
City began the season by winning the FA Community Shield, defeating Manchester United 7–6 on penalties following a 1–1 draw at Wembley.
However, Guardiola's side experienced an inconsistent league campaign, with injuries to influential players and a difficult sequence of results affecting their title challenge. The long-term absence of Rodri proved particularly significant, with the Spanish midfielder sidelined for much of the season following a serious knee injury.
City strengthened their squad during the January transfer window, bringing in Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico González. Despite their difficulties, the team recovered sufficiently to secure Champions League qualification, finishing third in the Premier League with 71 points and 21 victories.
Haaland remained City's leading attacking figure, scoring 34 goals across all competitions, including 22 in the Premier League.
In the UEFA Champions League, City progressed to the knockout phase play-offs, where they faced familiar opponents Real Madrid. A 3–2 defeat at the Etihad Stadium was followed by a 3–1 loss in Madrid, resulting in a 6–3 aggregate elimination.
City enjoyed greater success in the FA Cup, reaching the final for the third consecutive season. However, a first-half goal from Eberechi Eze secured a 1–0 victory for Crystal Palace at Wembley, denying City another domestic trophy.
The campaign also marked the conclusion of De Bruyne's ten-year spell at the club, during which the Belgian became one of the most influential players in Manchester City's history. Although City were unable to maintain their previous levels of success, the season represented an important period of transition as Guardiola began reshaping his squad for the future.
Produced by PUMA, the 2024/25 Manchester City third shirt featured a distinctive burgundy colourway with metallic-gold detailing and an all-over tonal graphic. Inspired by the ship featured on the Manchester City crest, the pattern represented the club's history, development and continued progress. The design incorporated the City crest, PUMA branding and Etihad Airways sponsor, offering an alternative to the club's traditional sky-blue home colours.
Worn during Guardiola's 2024/25 campaign, the shirt became associated with a season of transition as City finished third in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup final. Its rich colour combination and subtle graphic detailing make it a recognisable example of the club's contemporary PUMA designs.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
