Inter Milan enjoyed another successful domestic campaign during 2008/09, winning their fourth consecutive Serie A championship under José Mourinho in his first season as manager.

Following Roberto Mancini's departure during the summer of 2008, Mourinho arrived from Chelsea with ambitions of maintaining Inter's domestic dominance while improving their performances in European competition.

The squad featured established players including Zlatan Ibrahimović, Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Maicon, Júlio César, Walter Samuel and Dejan Stanković, alongside emerging striker Mario Balotelli.

Mourinho's first competitive fixture brought immediate silverware, with Inter defeating Roma on penalties in the Supercoppa Italiana following a 2–2 draw at San Siro. In Serie A, Inter established themselves as the leading title contenders, combining defensive stability with Ibrahimović's outstanding attacking performances.

The Swedish international enjoyed his most productive league campaign for the club, scoring 25 goals and finishing as Serie A's leading scorer. His performances included a memorable backheeled goal against Bologna and several important contributions as Inter maintained their advantage at the top of the table.

The Nerazzurri eventually secured the Serie A championship with 84 points, ten ahead of second-placed Juventus. The achievement delivered Inter's fourth consecutive Scudetto and their first league title under Mourinho.

In the Champions League, Inter progressed from the group stage before facing defending champions Manchester United in the Round of 16. A goalless draw at San Siro was followed by a 2–0 defeat at Old Trafford, ending their European campaign. Inter also reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Sampdoria.

Although the club was unable to make significant progress in Europe, the domestic championship represented an important achievement during Mourinho's debut season. The campaign established the foundations for the following season's historic treble, when Inter would win Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League.

Produced by Nike, the 2008/09 Inter away shirt featured a predominantly white design with distinctive brown detailing, complemented by the Pirelli sponsor and contrasting manufacturer branding. The shirt incorporated the Inter crest, gold star and Scudetto shield, reflecting the club's status as reigning Italian champions.

Worn during José Mourinho's first season in charge, the design became associated with Inter's fourth consecutive Serie A championship and the performances of players including Zlatan Ibrahimović, Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso. Its understated colour combination offered a distinctive alternative to Inter's traditional black-and-blue stripes, representing the campaign that laid the foundations for the club's historic treble the following season.

Condition
Condition: 8/10 - Excellent

Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.

Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.

Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.

Our condition guide

10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.

9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.

8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.

7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.

6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.

Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.

Storage

- Store in a cool, dry place

Protecting prints, badges and sponsor logos

- Do not iron directly over prints, namesets, patches or sponsor logos
