England wore Umbro training and leisurewear across the 2000–02 period, during a significant transition that included UEFA Euro 2000 and qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Having secured qualification for Euro 2000 through a play-off victory over Scotland, England entered the tournament under Kevin Keegan hoping to challenge Europe's leading international sides. The squad featured established players including Alan Shearer, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and goalkeeper David Seaman.
England were drawn alongside Portugal, Germany and Romania in a challenging group hosted across Belgium and the Netherlands. Despite establishing a two-goal lead against Portugal in their opening fixture, England suffered a 3–2 defeat.
The following match brought a memorable 1–0 victory over Germany, with Shearer scoring the decisive goal. However, a late penalty secured a 3–2 victory for Romania in England's final group fixture, confirming their elimination from the tournament.
Keegan subsequently departed as manager following a defeat against Germany during qualification for the 2002 World Cup. Sven-Göran Eriksson was appointed in January 2001, becoming England's first foreign manager and overseeing an important period of development.
Under Eriksson, England produced several impressive performances, including a remarkable 5–1 victory over Germany in Munich during September 2001. Owen scored a hat-trick, while Gerrard and Emile Heskey also found the net in one of England's most memorable World Cup qualifying victories.
England subsequently secured automatic qualification for the 2002 World Cup following Beckham's dramatic late free-kick against Greece at Old Trafford. At the tournament in Japan and South Korea, England progressed to the quarter-finals before suffering a 2–1 defeat against eventual champions Brazil.
The period represented an important transition for the national team, with several emerging players establishing themselves alongside experienced internationals.
Produced by Umbro, the 2000–02 England polo shirt formed part of the national team's official training and leisurewear collection. Featuring England's crest and Umbro branding, the design offered a more understated alternative to the team's match shirts while retaining the recognisable styling of the period. Associated with the transition from Keegan to Eriksson, Euro 2000 and qualification for the 2002 World Cup, this polo shirt represents a memorable era in England's international football history.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
