Cardiff City enjoyed a memorable 2007/08 campaign under Dave Jones, reaching the FA Cup final for the first time since their historic triumph in 1927.
Having established themselves in the Championship, Cardiff entered the season looking to challenge for promotion while continuing to develop a competitive squad.
The Bluebirds featured established players including Joe Ledley, Peter Whittingham, Stephen McPhail, Roger Johnson, Glenn Loovens and goalkeeper Peter Enckelman, alongside experienced striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and former Liverpool forward Robbie Fowler.
Cardiff experienced an inconsistent Championship campaign, eventually finishing 12th with 64 points, outside the promotion play-off positions.
However, their FA Cup performances provided the defining moments of the season. Having progressed through the opening rounds, Cardiff defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers and Middlesbrough to secure a place in the semi-finals.
The Bluebirds faced Barnsley at Wembley in April 2008, with Ledley scoring the only goal of the match to secure a memorable 1–0 victory. The result sent Cardiff into their first FA Cup final in 81 years, where they faced Premier League opposition in Portsmouth.
Despite a determined performance, Cardiff suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat, with Nwankwo Kanu scoring the decisive goal during the first half. Although the Bluebirds were unable to repeat their 1927 success, their appearance in the final represented one of the most significant achievements in the club's modern history.
Ledley emerged as an important figure throughout the campaign, while Whittingham, McPhail and Johnson contributed to Cardiff's impressive cup performances. The FA Cup run also brought renewed national attention to the club, providing memorable occasions for supporters and reinforcing Cardiff's place in Welsh football history.
Produced by Joma, the 2007/08 Cardiff City home shirt featured the club's traditional blue colourway, complemented by contrasting detailing and the Cardiff City crest. The design incorporated Joma branding and the club's shirt sponsorship, reflecting the distinctive styling of the late 2000s. Worn by Ledley, Whittingham and Hasselbaink during Cardiff's remarkable FA Cup campaign, the shirt remains closely associated with their historic appearance at Wembley.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
