AC Milan enjoyed a memorable 2002/03 campaign under Carlo Ancelotti, winning both the UEFA Champions League and Coppa Italia while finishing third in Serie A.
Having finished fourth in the league the previous season, Milan entered the campaign with ambitions of challenging for major honours domestically and in Europe. The squad featured established players including Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Rui Costa, Andriy Shevchenko, Filippo Inzaghi and Gennaro Gattuso.
Under Ancelotti, Milan developed an effective approach built around defensive organisation, technical quality in midfield and the attacking contributions of Shevchenko and Inzaghi.
The Rossoneri established themselves among the leading Serie A contenders during the opening months, although inconsistent results during the second half of the campaign prevented them from securing the league championship. Milan eventually finished third with 61 points, behind champions Juventus and runners-up Inter.
Their greatest achievement came in the Champions League, where they progressed through both group stages before eliminating Ajax in a dramatic quarter-final. Inzaghi and Shevchenko scored during a memorable 3–2 second-leg victory at San Siro, with Jon Dahl Tomasson securing the decisive goal late in the match.
Milan subsequently faced city rivals Inter in the semi-finals, progressing on away goals following a 1–1 aggregate draw.
The final against Juventus took place at Old Trafford, where a closely contested match remained goalless after extra time. Milan secured a 3–2 victory in the penalty shootout, with Shevchenko converting the decisive penalty to deliver the club's sixth European Cup.
The Rossoneri also enjoyed success in the Coppa Italia, defeating Roma 6–3 on aggregate in the final to complete a memorable cup double. The campaign represented an important achievement for Ancelotti, establishing the foundations for a period of sustained success in European football.
Produced by adidas, the 2002/03 AC Milan home shirt featured the club's traditional red-and-black vertical stripes, complemented by solid black sleeves, contrasting red three-stripe detailing and the Opel sponsor. Incorporating the Milan crest and adidas branding, the design became associated with players including Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf and Shevchenko during one of the club's most successful modern campaigns.
Its connection with the Champions League and Coppa Italia triumphs makes it a classic example of early-2000s Milan apparel.

Condition
Each item is individually inspected and graded by our team to ensure an accurate representation of its condition.
Every item at The Soccer Archive is individually assessed and graded on our condition scale out of 10. This rating takes into account the overall quality of the fabric, print, badges and any natural signs of wear that come with age.
Most pieces we sell are vintage or pre-owned, meaning small signs of age can be part of their character.
Our condition guide
10/10 - Brand New with Tags
Outstanding condition with no noticeable flaws. Tags may or may not be present, but the item shows little to no sign of wear.
9/10 - Mint
Very strong vintage condition. May show the lightest signs of storage or previous wear, but nothing that distracts from the item overall.
8/10 - Excellent
A well-kept piece with minor signs of age or use. This could include light bobbling, slight fading or very small marks, but it still presents really well.
7/10 - Very Good
Noticeable wear consistent with age. This may include moderate fading, small pulls, bobbling, minor cracking to print or a small mark.
6/10 and below - Good with Noticeable Signs of Wear
More obvious signs of wear or ageing. This might include heavier fading, marks, pulls, print wear or repairs.
Any notable flaws will always be highlighted in the product description and imagery.
